Bio:: Carolyn Strent - Executive Assistant to Chief Human Resources Officer at Newell Rubbermaid.
Carolyn Strent joined the Atlanta ArtCAN Committee in 2010 and is currently a member of the ArtCAN Logistics & Planning Committee.
I was touched by cancer in 1999 as a new bride. Scott and I arrived home from our honeymoon to discover my father-in-law, Lenny, had Pancreatic Cancer. Fortunately, Lenny was accepted into a trial cancer treatment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in NY. We believe this afforded him the chance to live another 18 months, which gave us the opportunity to say our good-byes before he passed away on June 25, 2001. Just 2 short months after Lenny passed away we found out we were expecting our first child, James Leonard. Lenny left us before he knew he would be a grandfather.
I joined the ArtCAN Committee in the hopes of making a difference in the fight against this terrible disease, so other families wouldn’t have to go through what we went through and be able to create long lasting memories with family members.
Carolyn is currently employed as the Executive Assistant to Chief Human Resources Officer at Newell Rubbermaid. I have been with the company since 2002. My husband Scott and I have 2 children, Jimmy age 10 and Isabelle age 7.
ArtCAN is a unique and original fund raising event that features a fine art auction and original performances from selected acclaimed performing and visual artists from around the world who have been closely affected by cancer.
