Bio: Director of Catering Sales at The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta and with the company for over 9 years, Carla felt led to join the immense work of the JCM Foundation in creating awareness of pancreatic cancer, after coming in contact with Pamela Monastra and her committed team in 2015.
The personal journeys that were shared hit home for Carla, as her dad was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and their experiences immediately sparked a connection to the cause.
Carla’s passion for helping others in need blossomed while living in Phoenix, Arizona, a highly philanthropic environment that allowed for a wonderful encounter with the World Vision International. She was able to sponsor a 9 year old girl from Mozambique, where donations helped the young girl's family to buy books, supplies for school, provide safe drinkable water and maintain a healthy standard of living.
Later, she was appointed to the Arizona Friends of Foster Care Foundation as well as the Arizona Foundation for Women which allowed her to help the most vulnerable in our society – women and children.
In Carla’s role at The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta she leads the property’s local catering sales efforts in finding new corporate, social and nonprofit business by offering event and meeting space for business meetings, product launches, weddings, galas, fundraisers and social gatherings.
ArtCAN is a unique and original fund raising event that features a fine art auction and original performances from selected acclaimed performing and visual artists from around the world who have been closely affected by cancer.
