Founded in 1929, Atlanta Ballet is one of the premier dance companies in the country and the official State Ballet of Georgia. Atlanta Ballet’s eclectic repertoire spans ballet history, highlighted by beloved classics and inventive originals. After 83 years, Atlanta Ballet continues its commitment to share and educate audiences on the empowering joy of dance.

In 1996, Atlanta Ballet opened the Centre for Dance Education and is dedicated to nurturing young dancers while providing an outlet for adults to express their creativity. The Centre serves over 150,000 people in metro Atlanta each year. Atlanta Ballet’s roots remain firmly grounded in the Atlanta community and continue to play a vital role in the city’s cultural growth and revitalization.

The Company has also served as an ambassador for Atlanta nationally and internationally, performing around the globe-from the stages of Taipei in Taiwan to the Presidential Palace and the Sejong Cultural Arts Center in Seoul, Korea. In 1996, the Company performed during the Olympic Arts Festival/Cultural Olympiad, and in 1999, Atlanta Ballet debuted in London performing John McFall’s enchanting Peter Pan as the centerpiece of Royal Festival Hall’s millennium celebration.

Atlanta Ballet’s Nutcracker:  December 6 – 29, 2013 – It’s the most wonderful time of the year – Atlanta Ballet’s Nutcracker returns to the Fox Theatre for an enchanted evening the whole family will enjoy

Jean-Christophe Maillot’s Romeo et Juliette: February 7 – 15 ,2014 – A decidedly fresh and modern take on one of the most recognized Shakespearean love stories.

Pinocchio: February 15 – 16, 2014 (2 p.m.) – A one-hour family ballet perfect for audiences ages 12 and under. Performed by the Atlanta Ballet Fellowship Ensemble.

Modern Choreographic Voices: March 21 – 23, 2014 – Join us for a program featuring three of the most sought-after contemporary choreographers.

Stephen Mills’ Hamlet: April 11 – 13, 2014 – A modern production of Shakespeare’s enduring masterpiece that redefines the limits of dance.

World Premieres: May 16 – 18, 2014  – Two exciting world premieres by two women choreographers.
