My only living parent, my father, was diagnosed twice with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma during my college years. As I studied to pursue a BFA degree, I found my attentions often diverted to caring for my dad and trying to sort out my own feelings of insecurity and pain at the regular thought of losing him. Miraculously he survived both accounts and has remained an active patron of my art career while continuing to inspire many around him with his generosity, intelligence, and positive outlook.
